2/5/10 The dog of the month is Veda! Veda is stoic but lovable!

1/26/10
Brenda writes: Somebody peed on a bed, when I took it out to wash it Terra, Fletcher and Charlie kept attacking the water! It was soooo funny, but annoying because they got me wet. LoL!
1/12/10 Happy New Year! And to bring in the new year we want to introduce the Dog of the Month: Meet Macaroni! He is an 8 month old mini daschund barely tipping the scale at a whopping 5 lbs. He is a lover, not a fighter and gives kisses to everyone he likes!

12/23/09 Lisa is at it again with the decorating! Happy Holidays!

12/15/09 Here is another "poop" story that only dog lovers can appreciate Brittany writes: "Well something so horribly gross happened, Lol... Terra was running around with what looked sorta like a Kong (a toy that dogs play with at daycare) in her mouth, and everyone was trying to get it from her. It wasn't a Kong though, it was frozen poop. Then she started eating it like it was an ice cream sandwich or something! And it took me a bit to get it away from her because she was so protective of it and I couldn't just yank it out of her mouth with my hand!"
Snowy freezing weather can be a gross thing at a dog daycare. :-)

Fire side dog poop stories As you can imagine dealing with dog poop is a big part of a dog attendants' day. I'm reading the journal (it's what all of us dog attendants write in at work) Angie writes: I think I saw Roosevelt ( a chocolate lab) crap out a toddler sock in perfect condition. I'm not sure it was him but it was one of the dogs in that area, I am in total awe and I thought I would share that with you all. After reading that I giggled for awhile and spoke with Lisa about it. Lisa said, "Oh yeh, I know about Roosevelt," then she went on to share this story with me. Lisa said, "I walked out into the yard and saw a snake, a red snake with black diamonds."(Lisa is terrified of snakes) The snake was covered with poop so she knew a dog must have pooped out this snake. She called to another attendant to get a second opinion. Nicole thought it was intestines. So now they were both really unnerved! Lisa grabs a stick and pokes it, it unrolled, they both jumped back... it was... it was... a toddler sock with a black diamond pattern! Lol! After awhile Lisa narrowed it down and figured out it was Roosevelt who was pooping the socks. She told his Dad about it and his Dad said, "Roosevelt has a thing about eating their daughter's socks and his earplugs." So in the dog yard along with many piles of poop we will occasionally find toddler socks and ear plugs. Ewwwww! 11/5/09 It's a nice break taking a walk in the park with Saydee. The high energy of the dog pack can get overwhelming so we always like it when people schedule walks for their dogs. The one on one time with a dog gives me time to think and gives a dog time to sniff.
10/31/09 The doggie parents are the ones who definitely have the most fun during Halloween. They ate up the human treats faster than the dogs ate up theirs. Lol! Our front office looked great, Lisa is miss decorator extraordinaire, she makes our place look much more festive than I did in past years. I would put a pumpkin on the counter and declare the room decorated!
10/28 So far it's a good Halloween, nothing too spooky has happened. In the past we have had lights flicker or the sound of a window slamming. It's pretty dark by the time we put the dogs to bed so whoever is working the evening shift is always a bit unnerved.

What a snow storm! We usually don't get hit like this until after Halloween. Dogs were pretty excited, Rigby is in a play bow saying, "who wants to fight" and Saydee says, "let's go!" I guess Terra decided to sit this one out. They like playing in fresh snow as much as my kids do.
